Happy December

I thought I would do a different post today, something that has nothing to do with the book for a change, as I have been doing a lot of that lately.

Things I am looking forward to ...

  • Ice Skating
  • Winter Wonderland
  • Christmas lights
  • Christmas Carols
  • Snow (providing I don't have to travel anywhere)

What I am not looking forward to ...
December just reminds me of when I used to work in retail, and as soon as the first of the month hit us, all we would hear was Christmas music. I am no Scrooge, I like this time of year, but there is only so many times I can hear the same songs over and over again, and I only used to work part time.
Not only that, every year we are bombarded with adverts for CDs that contain the same songs, and every year they tell us it is the 'only Christmas album you'll ever need'. So why oh why do they sell that same CD every year with the same songs on it? Surely the people who would have wanted to buy the music would have bought the music by now.

So tell me ... What are you and aren't you looking forward to this December?

LoL, funny about the Christmas music! You're so right. In college I worked at a family-owned consignment store and they had a 5-disc CD player which so great! We employees could bring whatever CDs we wanted, and at Christmas it kept up variety which we and the customers appreciated!

I love Christmas music! I have like 500 Christmas songs, though, so when I put it on shuffle I get someone different. Many songs are the same but with totally different presentations. Love it!

I love all the lights people put up this time of year--they're so pretty at night. :)

I love Christmas music, but only for about an hour at a time. After that, it can definitely start to get old!

They definitely start in a little early with the carols. I say they start mid-December.

Laura - I love variety. Here in the UK, at Christmas time we hear the same 10 songs over and over again, which does get tiring.

Golden Eagle - I love the lights too, I will be posting pictures up of those after I go out and about around London.

Meredith - There are only some Christmas songs I enjoy, but we have to hear the same ones over and over again, year in year out.

Missed Periods - Some stores start selling Christmas decorations in August.

Rachna - I love that about this time of year. All trees around the streets are so beautifully decorated.
